I think you will find that Sky will remove your access to all channels within the next 24 hours. Then you will receive a letter providing payment options to you.
If you ring Sky and advise what the problem is you could pay for this month by credit card if you have one otherwise, all Sky can do is send you a new direct debit.
With a replacement direct debit option and bearing in mind a DDA has been rejected, I doubt that Sky will allow you access to the channels until they have received payment which could take quite some time.
A credit card is really the only option in the short term to avoid a blank screen.
Hope this helps
[Deleted User] Posts: 754 Forum Memberi am under the impression they will try the DD again in 7-10 days before they start any proceedings.
Don't know if this is true, though, maybe you could call Sky.
Also, apparently the banks are only allowed to charge you the administration cost of declining the DD, google 'bank charges'.
They definitely will not stop you're viewing so I wouldn't worry about that. I also wouldn't worry about finding the money straight away. They will re-try the direct debit like Harry says (although not sure if it's 10 or 14 days), if you don't think you'll have the money by then, you could either ring Sky or just cancel the direct debit at the bank(this would stop getting another returned DD fee) and Sky will send you out an invoice to pay by giro (although you get a £4 charge each month if it's you're regular choice of payment but I don' think you will get charged £4 for the initial invoice of this months missed payment). Then you could re-set the DD up when you're ready again.
You have plenty of leeway to get the money to Sky before they will cut off your viewing, generally Sky wont cut off you're viewing until you have missed 2 months worth of payments in a row.
I know all this cause this happened to me about a year ago, I'm not sure what wintv is going on about as that's simply not the case (I'm sure the Sky CS people on this board will back me up and other people it's happened to). They may do that if you're a persistent misser of payments but Sky are pretty understanding and as we pay in advance they're never that much out of pocket as if it was done in arrears. Infact Sky offered me 3 months half price when I said I was having money problems, even though I missed 2 months payments in a row!
[Deleted User] Posts: 115 Forum MemberA secont submision for the payment will go ahead about 10 to 14 days after the original payment was submited, if this is going to fail aswell you are best to cancell the direct debit at the bank to stop any further bank charges. Sky will stop your viewing on reciving notification from your bank of the second faild payment or of the direct debit being cancled unless payment has been recived before this happens.
The diredt debit will remain active untill the viewing is suspended.

.
I can assure you that is not the case, they will send out an invoice if you cancel the DD. They will only stop your viewing if you have not paid the bill before your next payment is due. If you cancel the DD all they will do is keep you on invoice until you set it up again which can be as long as you like if you want but it costs £4 a month of course.
What they end up doing is approx 2 weeks before your next payment is due they would send out an invoice that would include the amount for the missed payment (if you haven't paid it) and the next months viewing, as long as it's paid before the next billing date (allow 3 working days) you wont lose your viewing.
[Deleted User] Posts: 3,594 Forum MemberYesterday my Sky Direct Debit was returned unpaid after I went over my overdraft limit. I was charged two lots of £25 from my bank
Or just leave it and pay two lots next month. Sky will roll over this month's bill to next month's bill and won't cut you off unless you don't pay the next bill as well.

Thankyou, concise and not as long winded as my ramblings but exactly what I was trying to say.
I'm not sure why some people think you will lose there viewing straight away, obviously not experienced what happens if you're skint one month like me.
Tony as you can access some savings quickly (I assume) then your best is to just transfer some money to your current account and not do anything else.

I pay by credit card each month and about 9 months ago a fraud attempt was made against my card and my card provider closed the account and started a new account and issued a new card. They also stopped all standing payments against my original credit card account. Within about 48 hours of non payment, I lost my Sky viewing!
Perhaps Sky view credit card payments somewhat different to DDA's.

Maybe, strange but I thought they would treat it the same and still send out invoices as they don't like to cut your viewing unless they really have to. When I did it I was not able to pay it off until about 3 days after the payment date a month later so I lost my viewing briefly. Thing is though I paid it at the post office so was expecting a delay until my payment went through but on the same day(co-incidenatally) I recieved a phone call from Sky as they were chasing the money up. I told them I paid it earlier that day at the post office and they took my word for it and switched my viewing back on there and then and at the same time also offered me 3 months half price as I was going to cancel until I was fully back on my feet! . Now if I was lying they'd have soon found out a few days later and cut me off again but still i thought it was pretty trusting of them to just take my word for it, in light of the fact I'd missed 2 payments.
So no I don't understand why they'd cut you off straight away. Perhaps one of the people who work for Sky can shed some light on it.
